Hotel Room--whiteline wood print

I will be teaching

I have begun another print.

I will be splitting my time between this,
going to school to learn the lost wax casting process,
and making a road map for an island of businesses which are the
heart of Cross Plains, Wisconsin.
I'd like to get the map done by Trout Days.

 So, it begins!

This time I'm using Shina Plywood,
because I've not used it in a very long time,
and I happened to have a nice big sheet here.

Whiteline Woodblock printing workshop at Peninsula School of Art

I'm teaching it again!
Workshop ID PD1507

I've yet to update this WoodPrints blog,
but, in the mean time
you can see a collection of my WhiteLine wood print posts

I've got wood being readied for new blocks
the progress of which I hope to post.

Right now my mind is being held hostage by a Paddlefish.

Ex Libris prints

"In conjunction with the Guenzel Gallery exhibition, Out of the Woods
join us for a free print fair with participating artist Linda Kelen
and create a small woodblock print.
All materials provided."
It's happening this coming Saturday in Fish Creek...
Door County, Wisconsin...
so I've been cutting wood and printing the blocks as fast as I can
to show what's possible to do in a short amount of time.
I'm just using 1/4" and 3/8th inch Shina Plywood.
I'll post them here as I finish them.
An ExLibris print
seems (to me) to be a perfect end goal
for whomever might want to pick up a knife.
Personalization possible!
 So.....we'll see what happens.

Out of the Woods... Contemporary Woodblock Prints Show

I'm just back from teaching WhiteLine Woodblock Printing
at the Peninsula School of Art...
I'll post pictures from that later.
Contemporary Woodblock Prints show is up!
August 22 through October  18, 2014
Kay McKinley, their gallery director did a terrific job of showing the wide range of wood printing
through work of
me, Linda Kelen , (also my blog of woodprints only)
and Richard Steiner, who will be there in person Sept 5-10, lecturing on the 9th.
I took photos,
but the Peninsula School of Art link is great and ready right now!

And THEN....
On September 20th
In conjunction with the Guenzel Gallery exhibition,
Out of the Woods
join us for a free print fair
with participating artist Linda Kelen
and create a small woodblock print.
All materials provided.

Woodprints postings

There is only so much time,
and I seem to have managed to get myself into more activities
than planetary time allows.

Having neglected this blog for reasons unknown,
since I have been actively cutting and printing woodblocks,
I'll begin by showing you what I did last night,
and work backward for a bit.

Snapped with my cell phone,
this is one of the 4" x 6" woodblocks I cut it generate some interest in a public woodprint workshop I'm involved in at the Peninsula School of Art in conjunction with a fine woodprint show they are readying for.
I'll have more information soon.
This next one will be printed sometime this afternoon:
4"x6" block to be printed next.
The whiteline wood print completed last week.
White line wood print in progress
Whiteline woodprint done, still attached to block
Whiteline woodprint done.
I'll do my best to keep this a bit more up to date....
in the mean time, my blog ARTINGS gets a little more attention.
